db game Cricket Betting — Bet Across All Formats from T20 to Test
Multiple markets, real-time odds and live in-play betting on BPL, IPL and international cricket — all in one place. db game is for those who see cricket as more than just a game.
The three cricket formats and the most-followed tournaments
Before betting on cricket, it is important to understand the differences between formats, because the style of play varies and the betting markets shift accordingly.
T20 is the shortest and fastest format — each team plays just 20 overs. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League), IPL and the ICC T20 World Cup all use this format. BPL holds a special place for Bangladeshi fans — the excitement stays high from the first ball to the last. In this short format the match can turn at any moment, so betting odds also move fast.
ODI, or one-day cricket, gives each team 50 overs. Batting strategy is more calculated here, and smaller teams have a real chance of upsetting bigger ones. The ICC World Cup and many bilateral series matches are played in this format.
Test cricket is a five-day game. It is the deepest and most analytical format — pitch behaviour, weather and player consistency all play a major role. Test cricket offers the most varied range of betting markets.
db game offers betting across all three formats. Whether it is the Tigers playing or a major international series — whatever the type of match, the markets stay active.
Football and Other Sports
Alongside cricket, db game also offers betting on football and several other sports. Football has three possible outcomes — team A wins, team B wins or a draw — so the odds structure differs from the two-outcome T20 market in cricket. In limited-overs cricket there is no draw, so odds are split between two sides, whereas in football the odds are spread across three outcomes. The most popular markets in cricket
In a match you can bet on much more than just who wins. Below is an introduction to seven common markets.
Match Winner
Picking which team will win the match is the most straightforward market. There is no draw in T20 and ODI, so you choose one of two options. Example: if team B's odds are 2.30, a ৳1,000 bet returns ৳2,300 if team B wins.
Toss
A bet on which captain will win the toss before the match begins. With two equally likely outcomes the odds on both sides tend to be close — making it suitable for small stakes.
Top Batsman
This market is about which batsman will score the most runs. With multiple contenders the odds are higher, as picking the right one is comparatively harder.
Total Runs Over/Under
The question here is whether the total runs scored in the match will be above (over) or below (under) a set number. Pitch and weather play a big role, making this a favourite among more analytical bettors.
Top Bowler
A bet on which bowler will take the most wickets. Pitch conditions and death-over statistics are especially useful here, particularly in short-format matches.
Runs in a Specific Over
How many runs will be scored in the powerplay or death overs — this type of market is very popular in in-play betting. You can take part in this market while watching the live broadcast.
Multi Bet — One Bet Across Multiple Selections
A multi bet combines selections from multiple matches or markets, and all the odds are multiplied together to give the total return. Example: if three selections have odds of 1.40, 1.50 and 1.80, the combined odds are 1.40 × 1.50 × 1.80 = 3.78 (approximately), so a ৳100 stake returns ৳378 — but only if all three selections are correct; if even one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost. A multi bet offers the chance of a higher return, but the risk is equally higher.
Decimal, fractional and American — three odds formats
The same odds can be written in three different ways — decimal, fractional and American. Most platforms in Bangladesh use decimal, but knowing the difference between all three makes it easy to calculate any odds at a glance.
| Format | Odds for team A to win | Return on a ৳200 bet |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 2.25 | ৳450 (profit ৳250 + original stake ৳200) |
| Fractional | 5/4 | ৳450 (same result) |
| American | +125 | ৳450 (same result) |
In the example above, team A's odds in three formats are: decimal 2.25 = fractional 5/4 = American +125. A ৳200 bet returns ৳450 if it wins (profit ৳250 plus the original ৳200 stake), and if it loses the ৳200 is gone.
Odds are lower for the favourite. Say team B's odds are decimal 1.50 = fractional 1/2 = American −200. The American minus sign means how much you need to stake to win ৳100 — in this case a ৳200 stake returns ৳300 (profit ৳100).
Decimal odds are generally the easiest to read — just multiply the odds by the stake to get the total return.
Odds shift when a wicket falls — how live betting works
Live or in-play betting means you can place bets even after the match has started. In cricket this is especially dynamic because a single wicket or a big over can completely change the picture of the match.
Say team A is batting and loses three wickets in the powerplay — team A's odds of winning will immediately lengthen (because they are now in a weaker position) and team B's odds will shorten. If you back team B at that moment you will get a lower return than before, but many people choose it as the safer option. On the other hand, if you believe team A can recover, there is also an opportunity to bet at higher odds.
In-play betting in Test cricket is more complex — pitch behaviour changes over five days, spinners become more effective in the later stages, and weather can directly affect the result. All these factors are reflected in the live odds.
Remember: In in-play betting you have less time to decide. It is wiser to read the market carefully before placing a bet rather than rushing. Betting is part of the entertainment — participating with a responsible attitude is what matters most.
A few things to keep in mind before starting cricket betting
Betting is primarily entertainment. Both winning and losing are possible — so betting without a plan is not a good idea.
